The world of Hup
Hupacha. The name is made up of two meaningful elements: ‘Hup’ – my family name – and ‘Pacha’, from the Quechua language of the South American Andes, meaning ‘world’ or ‘cosmos’. Together they form: The world of Hup. A creative universe where I bring my inner vision to life; where craftsmanship, imagination and a deep connection with nature come together to inspire and captivate.

Handcrafted wooden lighting, home design and art
I design and create handcrafted oak lighting and wooden art objects (wall art and home design). Each piece is unique, sustainably made and finished with a 100% natural hardwax oil that preserves and enhances the natural wood grain.
Sustainability is an integral part of how I work and think, and that shows in everything I make. I always give my products an elegant yet robust character. For lighting, I work exclusively with sustainably harvested oak from Germany and France. For every oak tree felled, a new one is planted. Some art objects (such as the tumbling blocks) are made from FSC-certified spruce, also sourced from Europe. I also work with recycled and reclaimed materials in certain upcycling projects. My sights are set on expanding my material palette too: more sustainable wood species and the pairing of wood with metal, which can create an interesting tension alongside the warmth of timber.
Every product in my collection is entirely designed, crafted, finished and packaged by me. From the first sketch to the final touch, everything passes through my hands. That guarantees consistent quality and personal attention at every stage of the creative process.

Studio on the Veluwezoom
My studio is nestled in the quiet town of Dieren (Gelderland), right on the edge of the Veluwezoom. Just steps from the vast forests that stretch all the way to the horizon. This landscape is an endless source of inspiration, calm and connection with nature, something I feel deeply every single day.
In 2018, I left the busy Randstad for this beautiful corner of the country. Not just a move, but a deliberate choice: a search for nature, space, stillness and connection. Since then, this has been both my home and my workshop. I have a deep affection for people, animals and the natural world. That connection is present whenever I work, surrounded by wood from the very species of trees that grow in the forests nearby. Working as locally as possible is, for me, simply a way of being.
The birth of Hupacha
My professional journey began in chemistry and IT. Successful by every measure, yet something kept pulling at me. For years I worked mainly with my mind, and while I was good at it, I missed the connection with my hands, with materials, with something you can actually touch. Creativity had always been part of me: painting, sculpting, woodworking, metalworking, electronics, (jazz) guitar, graphic design, CAD and photo and video work. A collection of skills that built up over the years, yet had never found a true home until Hupacha came to life.
I felt it was time to change course. The urge to fully embrace my authentic self and find a professional outlet for my creativity became too strong to ignore. Hupacha is like a child that needed to be born. Starting in early 2026 was more than launching a business; for me it was a transformation, both professionally and personally.
With Hupacha, I have found a form for my creative ideas, technical aptitude and the skills I have built along the way. Every day I work with great pleasure on deepening my craft and expanding my collection. It brings me real satisfaction, joy and energy, from concept and creation to developing everything that comes with it.
What drives me
I am deeply drawn to personal growth, self-realisation and spirituality, with a great fascination for nature, ancient civilisations and symbolic geometry. That inner journey is an important source of inspiration for my work. All of this leaves its mark on my designs; sometimes subtly, sometimes more clearly visible.
I want to keep growing (creatively, technically and personally), build a bridge between concept and matter, and put something beautiful and tangible into the world that can inspire and captivate people. That, for me, is the essence of what Hupacha is. Every piece carries something of that search within it. Made in alignment with what wants to emerge, with the intention to enrich whatever it touches.
My mission with Hupacha is to illuminate people and their surroundings, both literally and figuratively.
