The Tessera line
Tessera — Latin for the small stones in a mosaic — is a line in which patterns take centre stage. Each piece is built up from carefully placed elements that together form a larger whole. A sculptural object by day, a source of warm light by night.
Tessera Rotalis
Tessera Rotalis is a square wall lamp (29 x 29 cm) in which each corner element is turned a quarter turn. Each corner element is made up of several smaller pieces. The pattern brings to mind a wheel, a fan, something that spins around, hence the name Rotalis.
LED lighting
The lamp is fitted with two LED light sources, one facing upward, one facing downward. Together they provide 680 lumens of warm white light (3000K), while using just 6.4 watts. That makes this lamp remarkably energy-efficient. Dimming works effortlessly with a standard LED dimmer (not included). Should you ever want to replace the light sources, that’s easy too, as the lamp uses G9 LED bulbs, widely available at hardware stores and elsewhere.
Finish
The finish, made with 100% natural hardwax oil, beautifully brings out the natural grain of the wood while protecting it for years of enjoyment. This oil is food-safe and is also used on cutting boards, keeping the lamp a truly natural product.

The oak wood tells its own story. The warm tones, the unique grain and patterns, the subtle variations in colour, no two pieces are ever exactly alike. That’s the beauty of natural material. Tessera Rotalis is always free of knots. What you receive is always a one-of-a-kind piece.
Colour temperature
The two LED light sources in the lamp have a colour temperature of 3000 Kelvin. To give you an idea of what 3000 Kelvin means in terms of light colour, you’ll find a scale below showing different colour temperatures. The indicator shows where 3,000 Kelvin sits on this scale, known as warm white light, ideal for a cosy, inviting atmosphere at home.
French Cleat Mounting System
This lamp is designed with a French cleat mounting system, a smart, reliable method that ensures your lamp hangs securely and level on the wall.
How does it work?
The system consists of two parts: a wall strip that you attach to the wall with screws, and a matching strip fitted to the back of the lamp. Once the wall strip is level, you simply hook the lamp into place. The lamp then sits flush against the wall, with no visible mounting marks.
What’s included?
The wall strip is included with this lamp, along with all mounting hardware. With a spirit level, a pencil and a drill, you’ll have the lamp safely up on the wall within minutes.
Connection & power cable
The lamp comes with a two-pole connector for direct connection to 230V. It’s designed to be wired directly to a fixed power point in the wall, the traditional way wall lamps are connected.
Prefer to plug it in instead?
That’s possible too. If you don’t have a fixed connection point available, or you’d like to be able to move the lamp around freely, a standard power cable can be included. You can select this option at the top of this page, just before adding the lamp to your cart. This is a standard black plastic power cable with a black plug.
I also offer stylish fabric cables. These cables combine functionality with a warm look that suits the character of the lamp. The fabric cables are available in various colours, so you can choose whichever suits your interior best.

Keeping your lamp looking its best
- Place in a room with humidity between 35% and 60% RH
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight
- Remove dust with a dry cloth
- Do not use harsh cleaning products or water
