Impetus

There are moments when something inside you starts to move. An inner impulse. The feeling that you’re moving toward something, even though you don’t yet know exactly where. Impetus is that moment. Two movements rise from one base. One larger, further, higher. The other slightly narrower, a little more reserved, but just as present, just as intentional. Together, entirely in balance.
One aspect, for instance, may be further along than the other. One perhaps sees further than the other. Sometimes you feel like one, sometimes like the other. Or it’s you together with someone else. Two people growing side by side, each in their own way.
There’s no right or wrong in these movements, they’re simply different, exactly as intended. Like a flame that never burns symmetrically, and is precisely because of that so alive.
And you don’t have to see it as anything in particular. The object invites, the truth is yours to find.

Impetus is handcrafted from sustainable oak. The piece is finished with natural hardwax oil, eco-friendly, non-toxic, and beautiful in how it brings out the natural grain.
The supports are made of iron, wrapped in hemp.
Impetus stands 42 cm tall, 28 cm wide and 16 cm deep.
